Govt Initiates Measures to Turn Bangladesh Film Development Corporation Profitable

Dhaka: Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam today announced the government’s commitment to transforming the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) into a profitable entity. This statement was made during an interaction with BFDC officials and employees at the Jahir Raihan VIP Projection Hall after a visit to the corporation’s premises.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahfuj Alam emphasized the government’s dedication to capacity building within the BFDC. He assured that comprehensive support would be provided to facilitate the completion of all stages of film production, ranging from shooting to editing, at the BFDC facilities.



The adviser highlighted the strategic location of BFDC in the capital city, pointing out its vast potential for undertaking diversified film-related activities. He called upon all stakeholders to optimally utilize the available resources and opportunities at their disposal.



Addressing some of the current challenges faced by the BFDC, Mahfuj Alam assured that the government is proactively working to address and resolve these issues. His visit included a tour of the under-construction complex of BFDC, featuring the shooting floor, editing wing, lighting department, color lab, sound wing, and the office of the directors and artists’ association.



BFDC Managing Director Masuma Rahman Tani, along with other officials, accompanied the adviser during his visit.
