Bangkok: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is set to engage in 'bilateral talks' with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit. The discussions are scheduled to take place from 12:10 pm to 12:30 pm local time, as confirmed by CA's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam to BSS.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Yunus has a series of meetings lined up with leaders from the BIMSTEC region, including Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, and Myanmar Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing. Besides these discussions, Prof Yunus will address the BIMSTEC Summit, where the chairmanship will be officially handed over to him.
Additionally, BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandey is scheduled to meet with the chief adviser. In preparation for the summit, Thailand's Minister for Social Development and Human Security, Varawut Silpa-archa, and Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, Jiraporn Sindhuprai, met with Yunus today.
Prof Yunus arrived in Bangkok on Thursday to participate in the 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation Summit.
