Two Teenage Motorcyclists Die in Rangpur Road Collision

Rangpur: Two teenage motorcyclists lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in a road accident at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday in the Taxerhat area of Badarganj upazila of the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ashik, aged 16, and Nayeem Hossain, aged 14, were identified as the deceased individuals. Ashik was the son of Ibrahim Mia from Pakarmatha Dhontola village, while Nayeem was the son of Momin Hossain from Pathanerhat village, both located within the same upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badarganj police station, AKM Atiqur Rahman, provided these details.



Eyewitnesses reported that the tragedy occurred when four young motorcyclists, riding on two separate motorcycles, were speeding in the Taxerhat area. A battery-powered charger van was moving ahead of them. While riding side by side and conversing, they lost control and collided with the back of the van, resulting in their fall. One of the motorcyclists died instantly at the scene.



The other severely injured rider was transported to the Badarganj Upazila Health Complex, where attending medical personnel declared him deceased. The incident also left two other riders, Ripon (16) and Liptan (15), both from the same area, injured. They were promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment.



OC Rahman mentioned that efforts to return the bodies to the families were ongoing. As of 5:30 pm, no formal complaint regarding the incident had been filed.
