Dhaka: Rain accompanied by thunder showers, lightning flashes, and temporary gusty winds is expected to occur at one or two places in the Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. ‘There may be temporary gusty winds with a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the west or northwest over Mymensingh and Sylhet regions,’ the Met office has announced.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, river ports in these divisions have been instructed to display warning signal number 1. The Met office has also reported that a trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal and the adjoining area, while a seasonal low is present over the South Bay. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is likely to remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky.
A mild heat wave is currently affecting the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Nilphamari, Jashore, Dhaka, Faridpur, and Rangamati, and it may persist. The day temperature may see a slight increase, while the night temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged. The Met office recorded the maximum temperature for today at 37.0 degrees Celsius in Jashore under Khulna Division, while the minimum was 16.0 degrees Celsius in Dimla under Rangpur Division. In Dhaka, today’s sunset is expected at 06:15 pm, with the sunrise tomorrow at 05:50 am.
