Dhaka: A 55-member rescue and medical team from Bangladesh arrived in Nay Pyi Taw at approximately 2pm today to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team was transported by two C-130J and one CASA C-295W flights, bringing with them a total of 15 metric tons of relief materials. These supplies included 4.2 metric tons of medicine and medical products, along with tents and dry food, aimed at supporting the earthquake-stricken communities in Myanmar.
The Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar, Dr. M Monwar Hossain, officially handed over the relief materials to U Kyaw Tun, the Ambassador-at-large of the Myanmar Foreign Ministry. The Defence Adviser of the Embassy, Brigadier General Md Aftab Hossain, was also present at the ceremony to oversee the handover process.
This recent delivery follows an earlier consignment sent on 30 March 2025, when Bangladesh dispatched 16.5 metric tons of relief materials in two flights to assist the earthquake-affected population in Myanmar.
