Tangail: A brick kiln in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail was fined Taka 1 lakh for manufacturing bricks without the necessary approval from the Department of Environment (DoE).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a mobile court led by the Tangail Environment Directorate and Mirzapur Upazila Administration conducted a raid in the Dewhata area under the Mirzapur upazila. The brick kiln in question, Messers. Sony Bricks, was found operating without the required environmental clearance.
Biplop Kumar Sutrodhor, a Visitor from the Tangail Environment Directorate, stated that the fine was imposed due to the lack of approval from the DoE. He emphasized the importance of protecting the environment and mentioned that operations would continue against illegal brick kilns. Additionally, the court ordered the demolition of the brick kiln and instructed the cessation of all its activities.
