Dhaka: The government has appointed 34 lawyers of the Supreme Court as new assistant attorney generals of Bangladesh. Solicitor Wing of the Law and Justice Division issued two separate gazette notifications in this regard on March 17, Law Ministry sources said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the newly appointed assistant attorney generals include Md Arifir Rahman, Khorshed Alam, Md Golam Razib, Md Nurul Huda, Md Al Amin, Sanzida Rahman, Asma Hossain, Md Saidur Rahman (Jaton), Faruk Ahmed, Papiya Sultana, Md Sarwar Alam Chowdhury, Md Fuad Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahbuba Taslim Akhi, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Abdur Rahim, Abu Sadat Md Sayem Bhuiyan, Mohammad Delwar Hossain, Biswanath Karmakar, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain Sheikh, Mousumi Akter, Md Raihan Alam, Md Touhidul Islam, Md Mizanur Rahman, Sabina Yasmin Nira, Ashraful Alam, Omar Faruk, Shamsul Islam Mukul, Abul Khayer Khan, Rashedul Hasan Sumon, Qazi Kamrunnesa, Md Qaium, KM Rezaul Feroz (Rintu), and Md Mizanur Rahman.
Signed by solicitor (acting) Sana Md Mahruf Hossain, the notifications stated that the appointments were made in accordance with article 3 (1) of The Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (P.O.No. 6 of 1972). The orders are set to take effect immediately.
