Three Players Share Lead in Independence Day WALTON Chess Tournament

Dhaka: Nine players shared lead in the points table with three points after the third round of the Independence Day WALTON International Rating Chess tournament, which is now being held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the three players are International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin, FIDE Master Subrata Biswas, Anata Choudhury, FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain, Candidate Master Md. Shariatullah, Md. Nasir Uddin, Woman Candidate Master Warsia Khusbu, and Rayan Rashid Mugdho.

The third round matches took place today, with IM Md. Minhaz Uddin defeating Neeloy Debnath, FM Subrota Biswas beating CM Sohel Chowdhury, and Anata Choudhury overcoming FM Md. Saif Uddin. Other notable results include FM Mohammad Javed outclassing Abdul Momin, while FM Khandaker Aminul Islam and WCM Walijah Ahmed split a point. Rayan Rashid Mugdho defeated FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, and Sawrnavo Choudhury split a point with Sk. Rashedul Hasan. FM Md. Sharif Hossain
bested Mihir Lal Das, CM Md. Abu Hanif split a point with Rubel Hossen, and CM Md. Shariatullah defeated Mohammad Shameem.

Additional results saw Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan splitting a point with Afzal Hossain Sacchu, Md. Nasir Uddin outclassing Delwar Hossain, CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed splitting a point with Reasat-e-Noor, WCM Warsia Khusbu defeating Abijit Barua, and FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed beating Md. Zakir Hossain.

The fourth round matches are scheduled for tomorrow at the same venue.
