Khalid Advocates Quranic Teachings to Prevent Violence Against Women

Dhaka: Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain has emphasized the potential of Quranic teachings in preventing violence against women. He articulated this viewpoint at the Hifzul Quran Competition 2024-25, organized by the Greater Mymensingh Youth Association at the Dhaka Officers’ Club.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khalid highlighted the Quran’s respect for women, noting how the Hadith Sharif emphasizes the importance of mothers. He urged society to propagate Quranic ideals and take decisive steps to integrate these teachings into daily life to foster a non-discriminatory state.



The event was presided over by Barrister Mutasim Billah Faruqi, President of the Greater Mymensingh Youth Association. Other notable speakers included Justice Md Jahangir Hossain, freedom fighter Abdus Salam, and Dhaka-based Jamalpur Zila Samity Association President M Rashiduzzaman Millat. The advisor concluded the event by distributing crests and certificates to the winners of the Quran recitation competition.
