AG Urges Journalists to Remain Vigilant Against Corruption in Judicial Arena

Dhaka: Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman today called upon the journalist community to remain vigilant against corruption in the judicial arena. The appeal was made during his address at the Iftar Mahfil of the Law Reporters’ Forum (LRF) held at the Supreme Court Lawyers Association hall room in the capital.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Attorney General highlighted the pivotal role that the LRF has been playing in legal affairs reporting. He expressed hope that the forum would continue its robust efforts to combat corruption within the judiciary, as it has done in the past. Asaduzzaman assured the journalists that despite facing various challenges, the Attorney General’s office and the lawyers association would provide their unwavering support.



The event was presided over by LRF’s acting president Hasan Javed and moderated by Muhammad Yeasin, the convenor of the Iftar Mahfil committee. Key speakers included Supreme Court Lawyers Association president Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, former Dhaka Reporters Unity presidents Nazrul Islam Mithu and Ilias Hossain, and LRF founding member secretary Kazi Abdul Hannan. Former LRF presidents M Badi-uz-Zaman and Mashhudul Haque, current general secretary Moniruzzaman Mission, along with former general secretaries Didarul Alam Didar, Azizul Islam Pannu, Ahammed Sarwar Hossain Bhuiyan, and Habibur Rahman also addressed the gathering.



The Iftar Mahfil was also attended by LRF Finance Secretary Monjun Hossain, organizing secretary SM Nur Mohammad, training and publicity secretary Javed Akhter, and executive committee member Arafat Munna, among others.
