19 Bangladeshis Arrested at Moheshpur Border for Illegal Entry Attempts

Moheshpur: Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have arrested 19 Bangladeshis in separate operations as they attempted to illegally enter India through various border areas in the Moheshpur upazila of the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BGB’s Benipur Border Outpost (BoP) detained three individuals, including a woman, while personnel from the Baghadanga BoP apprehended eight people, among them four women and two children. In a separate operation, the Kushumpur BoP arrested seven individuals, which included two women and two children, as they tried to cross into the neighboring country illegally.



The arrested individuals have been identified as Miraj, 28, son of Kawsar Ali from Pipulbaria village in Moheshpur upazila; Sohagh Biswas, 30, son of Habi Biswas from Goalanda upazila in Rajbari district; Bikash Chandra Das, 35, son of Poresh Chandra from Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district; Manishangkar Majumder, 33, and his brother Rubel Chandra Majumder, 37, from Chitalmari upazila in Bagerhat district; Kalangir Fakir, 45, son of Daud Fakir from Mollahat village in Dighalia village, Khulna district; and Shibaji Biswas, 19, son of Subodh Biswas from Satpara village in Sadar upazila, Gopalganj district.



The BGB has chosen not to disclose the names of the arrested women and children. The apprehended men have been handed over to Moheshpur Thana for legal proceedings.
