Dhaka: The government today promoted 14 police inspectors to the rank of assistant superintendents of police (ASPs), as announced in a statement from the home ministry. This significant step marks a notable advancement within the police force, providing these officers with new responsibilities and opportunities for leadership.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the officers who have been inducted into the Bangladesh Civil Service’s (BCS) police cadre as ASPs were previously serving as police inspectors. This promotion reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the police force by elevating experienced personnel to higher positions.
The gazette notification confirming these promotions was signed by Md Mahbubur Rahman, the deputy secretary of the public security division of the home ministry. It outlines the next steps for the promoted officers, who have been attached to the police headquarters. They are required to submit their joining letters to the senior secretary of the public security division of the home ministry through the proper authority, thereby formalizing their new roles.
