Training Workshop for Journalists Begins at PIB

Dhaka: A three-day training workshop focusing on mobile journalism commenced today at the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) for reporters from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) and Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. The event was inaugurated at 9:30 am in the seminar room of PIB, with PIB Director General Faruk Wasif attending as the chief guest.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop aims to enhance the journalistic skills of participants by emphasizing the importance of presenting accurate information. During his address, Faruk Wasif highlighted the essential role journalists play in conveying true information to the public. He urged journalists to thoroughly verify facts and maintain credibility by adopting a multi-perspective approach to their reporting.

Faruk Wasif also pointed out the deterioration of journalism over the past 15 years and called on journalists to work towards restoring the profession's respect. The workshop, coordinated by PIB trainer Mohammad Shah Alam, gathers twenty-eight journalists from the participating universities, providing them with valuable training and insights.

PIB Director of Studies and Training Department, Parveen Sultana Rabbi, and trainer Mohammad Shah Alam were present to support the event. The workshop is set to conclude on March 8, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of mobile journalism techniques.
