Dhaka: Five dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, one patient was hospitalized in Barishal division, one in Dhaka North, one in Rajshahi, and two were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna division, as stated in a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release further noted that the total number of dengue cases this year has risen to 1,584, with 13 deaths reported due to the disease. In contrast, last year saw a significantly higher number of cases, with the total reaching 101,214 and 575 deaths reported, indicating a decrease in both cases and fatalities this year.
The DGHS continues to monitor the situation closely, implementing measures to control the spread of dengue, which remains a public health concern in the country. The public is urged to take preventive actions and seek medical attention if dengue symptoms are observed.
