Government Appoints New Civil Surgeons in 41 Districts

Dhaka: The government has appointed new civil surgeons in 41 districts across the country. The Health Services Division (HSD) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has taken this significant step to ensure effective healthcare management at the district level.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued two separate notifications, signed by Deputy Secretary Sanjida Sharmin, detailing the appointments. The notifications were released on Sunday, March 2. One of the notifications announced the appointment of civil surgeons in 12 districts, while the other addressed the appointment in the remaining 29 districts.



Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry made 29 civil surgeons Officer on Special Duty (OSD), indicating a reshuffle within the healthcare management system. The notifications also specified that the transferred or reassigned officials are required to join their new workplaces by March 6. Failure to do so will result in their release from current postings effective from March 9.
