Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus emphasized the critical role of Anjuman Mufidul Islam in society, highlighting its ongoing efforts to bury unclaimed dead bodies and care for orphaned children. He described the organization as a unique institution in the subcontinent during a doa and iftar mahfil held at Anjuman Mufidul Islam's Kakrail office.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Yunus inaugurated the 'Anjuman JR Tower,' a new building for the charity, and participated in an iftar with orphans. He praised the organization's commitment to recovering and burying unclaimed bodies across the country, especially during the challenging times of the coronavirus pandemic. He noted that Anjuman Mufidul Islam has become synonymous with the history of Bangladesh and the Muslim community, operating without publicizing its activities.
Dr Yunus expressed his aspiration for a society where no bodies remain unclaimed, encouraging Anjuman Mufidul Islam to continue its work while striving for a future where such efforts are no longer necessary. He urged the public to work towards eliminating societal flaws and expressed gratitude to those serving Anjuman Mufidul Islam with dedication.
The event was attended by advisers Dr Salehuddin Ahmed and Ali Imam Majumder, along with Anjuman Mufidul Islam president Mufleh R Osmany and vice-president Ghulam Rahman. Dr Yunus also expressed hope that Anjuman's activities would expand into new areas in the future.
