Islamic Foundation Calls for Preservation of Ramadan’s Sanctity

Dhaka: The Islamic Foundation, Bangladesh (IFB) has issued a call to the citizens of Bangladesh to uphold the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan. This appeal was made during a rally held this morning at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque premises, marking the commencement of the sacred month.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the IFB organized the rally to raise awareness about maintaining the holiness of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Arabic calendar observed by Muslims globally. The month is characterized by fasting (sawm), prayers (salah), recitation from the Holy Quran, and engaging in other religious activities.

The rally aimed to promote this awareness among the public to ensure the sanctity of Ramadan for the year 1446 Hijri. IFB Director General A Salam Khan led the procession, which began at the north gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and concluded at its south gate, traversing various main roads in the vicinity.

The event saw the presence of key figures such as Director of Islamic Foundation Mohammad Touhidul Anwar, Md Anisur Rahman Sarkar, Dr Mohammad Harunur Rashid, along with Islamic scholars, IFB officials, and employees.
