Legal Aid Realizes Compensation of Tk 239.25 Crore for Insolvent Litigants

Dhaka: The National Legal Aid Organization (Legal Aid) has successfully facilitated the realization of Taka 239.25 crore in compensation for insolvent litigants. This significant achievement highlights the organization’s commitment to providing legal assistance to those in financial need.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a report published on the website of the National Legal Aid Organization detailed that this compensation was secured for the country’s insolvent litigants from 2009 to January 2025. The efforts to provide this legal aid were executed through Legal Aid offices across the nation, as well as Workers’ Legal Aid Cells located in Dhaka and Chittagong.



The report further revealed that Taka 232 crore, 62 lakh, 13 thousand, and 381 was collected through 64 district legal aid units. Additionally, Tk 6 crore, 63 lakh, 26 thousand, and 215 was realized via the workers’ legal aid cells in Dhaka and Chittagong. These activities are conducted under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
