Rangamati: Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today emphasized the importance of innovation among women in the region to foster self-reliance through entrepreneurship. Speaking at a gathering with women entrepreneurs at the Rangamati Hill District Council auditorium, Chakma highlighted the need for innovation in transforming traditional products to appeal to a broader audience.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event featured welcoming remarks from Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajol Talukdar. The gathering was also addressed by entrepreneur Nandita Chakma, alongside Trisila, Sanjida, and Monowara Begum. Khandkar Rezaul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of the Rangamati Zila Parishad, moderated the function.
Chakma urged women entrepreneurs to take proactive steps in further developing sustainable products. He stressed the importance of training to enhance their entrepreneurial skills. The adviser also assured financial assistance to support the women entrepreneurs in the region.
In addition to financial backing, Chakma announced government initiatives to construct three multi-storied buildings across the hill districts. These spaces are intended to facilitate various activities, such as setting up computer online platforms, Facebook villages, entrepreneurs fairs, and ethnic community villages, providing opportunities for women to market their products effectively.
