Dhaka: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 1742 cases over a span of three days across the capital for violations of traffic rules.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this information was confirmed in a press release issued today by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. The release detailed that the DMP Traffic Division has not only filed these cases but also realized fines in the last day through a regular drive targeting traffic rules violators.
The drive resulted in the impounding of 222 vehicles, while 42 others were towed. The DMP indicated that the initiative to enforce traffic regulations will persist as part of efforts to bring order to Dhaka’s streets.
