Army Chief Attends Closing Ceremony of Bangladesh Army Firing Competition-2025

Savar: Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman today attended the closing and award-giving ceremony of the ‘Bangladesh Army Firing Competition-2025’ at Savar Cantonment, outskirt of the capital. The chief of army staff distributed prizes among the winners of the firing competition as the chief guest, said a release of the Directorate of Inter-Services of Public Relations (ISPR) this afternoon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, speaking on the occasion, General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized the importance of firing practice in achieving the professional excellence of army personnel, which is considered an integral part of the basic training in the Bangladesh army. He highlighted that the annual firing competition plays a significant role in the improvement of soldiers’ skills.



The ISPR reported that a total of 17 teams, including logistic area, five independent brigades, and the para-commando brigade, participated in the competition. The event was conducted under the auspices of the Army Headquarters’ ninth infantry Division on February 18, 2025.



On the occasion, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Savar and Area Commander, senior military officers, army personnel, officers of Savar cantonment, JCOs, military personnel, and media persons were present to witness the ceremony.
