Nilphamari: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) -13 arrested an absconding kidnapper of a teenage girl from Saidpur upazila in Nilphamari district on Saturday afternoon. The arrested individual has been identified as Md Jahangir Alam, 22, the son of Md Babar Ali from the village of Sonapukur (Noyapara) in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested accused, along with his accomplices, forcibly abducted the teenage victim from the Dhelapeer area of Saidpur upazila in Nilphamari at 3:45 pm on October 31, 2024. Following the incident, the victim’s father filed a case with the Saidpur police station in Nilphamari district, bringing the incident to public attention.
The crime created a sensation in the area and was promptly noticed by the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13. In response, CPC-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13, in coordination with the police, initiated intelligence activities and a shadow investigation to apprehend the absconding accused.
On receiving a tip-off, an operational team from CPC-2 of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13 conducted a raid in the village of Sonapukur (Noyapara) in Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur, successfully arresting the prime accused, Jahangir Alam, at 2:30 pm on Saturday. The elite force subsequently handed over the arrested abductor to Saidpur police station in Nilphamari district, as stated in the press release.
