Dhaka: The semi-finalists of both the Boys and Girls sections of the Primary School Gold Cup football were decided today. The semi-finals and third-place deciding matches are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, while the final match will take place on Thursday at the National Stadium in Dhaka. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deiara Anta Bunia Government Primary School in Koira upazila of Khulna district, Ichaghari Government Primary School in Sunamganj Sadar, Matikata Government Primary School in Vuapur upazila of Tangail district, and Koyarbil Government Primary School in Kutubdia upazila of Cox's Bazar district have secured their spots in the boys' section semi-finals. In the girls' section, the semi-finalists are Doharo Government Primary School in Shailakupa upazila of Jhenaidah district, Jorgacha Government Primary School in Santhia upazila of Pabna district, Tepriganj Government Primary School in Devidhar Upazila of Panchagarh district, and Bancharampur Model Government Primary School in Banch arampur upazila of Brahmanbaria. Two matches each from the boys' and girls' sections were held today at the National Bangla High School ground in Mirpur-2, similar to the previous day. In the boys' section, Matikata School narrowly defeated Kurigram 1 No. Government Primary School from Kurigram Sadar, while Koyarbil School achieved a similar victory over Bankerhat Government Primary School from Bhola Sadar. In the girls' section, Tepriganj School won against Tholnarpar Government Primary School from Moksedpur Upazila, and Bancharampur School secured a victory over TTDC Government Primary School from Mehendiganj upazila. A total of 65,354 government primary schools participated in the tournament. After progressing through the union, upazila, district, and division phases, the national round began with eight boys' and eight girls' teams from each division competing.
