Dhaka: A 455-member convening committee for the Jagannath University unit of Chhatra Dal has been announced, with Mehedi Hasan Himel as convener and Shamsul Arefin as member-secretary.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the new committee consists of 204 joint conveners and 249 members. Earlier, a 23-member partial convening committee was formed on December 23, 2024, stated a press release signed by Central Chhatra Dal President Md. Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir today.
Mehedi Hasan Himel emphasized unity, stating, “We will move forward together.” He highlighted the challenges faced by Chhatra Dal leaders and activists under what he described as a fascist regime.
Member Secretary Shamsul Arefin noted that the full committee marks a significant milestone after 17 years. He mentioned that those who had dedicated themselves to the party over the years have now been given political recognition. Arefin expressed optimism about the future, stating, “Together, we will unite and make history for Chhatra Dal.”
