ACC to Investigate Corruption Allegation Against RU Ex-VC

Dhaka: Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will investigate corruption allegations brought against the former Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) Prof. Abdus Sobhan. ACC has formed a 3-member investigation team led by its Deputy Director Muhammad Saiduzzaman to unearth the alleged corruption. Two other members of the team are: Afnan Zannat Keya and Abdullah Al Mamun.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, ACC Assistant Director Khorshed Alam alleged that Prof Abdus Sobhan misappropriated huge public money through corruptions along with abusing power. He had also given appointments to 138 teachers and employees, ignoring the order of the ministry of education.



Besides, the ACC has also summoned 11 RU teachers for interrogation for the sake of proper investigation by February 16 and 17. The teachers are: Lecturer ATM Shahed Parvej, Lecturer Sanjida Sobhan, Prof Ananda Kumar Shaha, Lecturer Saju Sarder, Lecturers Julhas Hossain, Lecturer Nur Nusrat Sultana, Lecturer Muhammad Salahuddin, Prof Gazi Towhidur Rahman, Prof Abdul Mazid and Prof Abdul Latif.
