Naogaon: Special Assistant (State Minister Status) for Education Ministry Professor Dr M Aminul Islam today announced that Naogaon University will focus on developing human resources suitable for the 5th Industrial Revolution, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the robotic era. He made these remarks during the 2nd founding anniversary celebration of Naogaon University at the Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium, where he served as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was chaired by Naogaon University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Moh Hasanat Ali. Other notable speakers included University Grants Commission member Professor Dr Masuma Habib, Pabna University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Professor Dr SM Abdul Awal, Naogaon Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal, Police Superintendent Shafiul Sarwar, and TMSS founder Professor Dr Hosne Ara.
During the event, Professor Awal highlighted the rich history of education in Naogaon, mentioning the existence of a university in Paharpur during the 8th century. He expressed concern over Naogaon University’s delay in starting its academic activities despite the passage of the university bill earlier in 2023. He urged the authorities to expedite the commencement of academic programs.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Moh Hasanat Ali expressed disappointment over the absence of teachers and students at the anniversary event, although he remained hopeful for future celebrations on the university’s own campus. The celebrations were marked by the chief guest inaugurating the anniversary by releasing pigeons and festoons.
Naogaon University Bill, which facilitates the establishment and operation of the university, was passed in the National Parliament on February 13, 2023.
