Rajshahi: The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has conducted a surveillance campaign in Rajshahi city to mark the ‘Safety Helmet Awareness Week’. The campaign aims to ensure the sale and distribution of quality helmets for two-wheeler riders in the city.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BSTI instructed traders in the Ranibazar, Station Road, and Darikharbona areas to halt the sale and distribution of low-quality ‘Protective Helmets for Two Wheeler Riders’ without a BSTI quality certificate or exemption certificate. The institution also encouraged consumers to purchase helmets that bear the BSTI mark, ensuring safety and compliance.

BSTI Director Zahura Sikder led the campaign, accompanied by BSTI officers Mohammad Shafiqul Alam, Md Sharif Hossain, and Engineer Junayed Ahmed. Their presence underscored the importance of adhering to safety standards and promoting awareness among both traders and consumers.
