Rajshahi: Durber Rajshahi’s youngster SM Meherob claimed his career-best 4-15 with his wily offspin to restrict Sylhet Strikers to just 117-9 in their crucial Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) game today. A victory in what was their last group phase match would help them stay in the BPL playoffs race. A defeat would leave them to clear many mathematical equations in sealing the last four spot.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, pace bowler Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, who scalped 4-18 against Rangpur Riders just 24 hours ago, followed the performance with 3-33 to further derail Sylhet after they were put into bat first. Mrittunjoy sliced the top-order in a display of swing bowling, reducing Sylhet to 19-3. Meherob then got into act by ripping through the middle order in no time.

Ahsan Bhatti was the top-scorer for Sylhet with 25 while Zakir Hasan made 24. Sumon Khan was not out on 20, helping the side to propel past 100, which looked unlikely.
