Rajbari: With an aim of building a new Bangladesh, the Primary School Gold Cup (boys’ and girls’) football tournament began here today on the occasion of Festival of Youth, keeping ahead the slogan “Let’s change the country, change the World”. Rajbari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sultana Akter inaugurated the meet as the chief guest at Rajbari railway Shaheed Khushi football ground.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, people from various walks of life, including government and private educational institutions, participated in the opening ceremony of the meet. The event was graced by the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Tarif Ul Hasan, District Primary Education Officer Tabibor Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar circle) Abu Rasel, and Rajbari Football Federation President Professor (retd.) Manjurul Alam, among others.
In the day’s opening match, Kalukhali secured a narrow victory over Pangsha boys’ team with a 1-0 goal, igniting the spirit of competition among young athletes.
