Dhaka: Facebook posts alleging that the Director General (DG) of the Special Security Force (SSF) sheltered crime accused Ali Hussain Shishir in his apartment are entirely fabricated, as stated by the chief adviser's press wing today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a spokesperson from the SSF clarified that Shishir had rented the DG's flat after introducing himself as a garment factory owner from Narsingdi. The spokesperson confirmed that a valid tenancy contract was signed with Shishir on legal stamps.
The spokesperson further elaborated, "The question of sheltering a crime accused in his home does not arise. When police came to arrest him at around 03:45 am on January 18, the DG had asked them to take him away and take necessary action as per laws."
Emphasizing the seriousness of the misinformation, the spokesperson remarked, "The posts are totally fabricated and twisted. It is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of the DG SSF as well as the Bangladesh Army without any inquiry. This is an irresponsible act."
