Saidpur: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accusing her of economic mismanagement and corruption. Speaking at a gathering at the central bus terminal in Saidpur upazila, Nilphamari district, Rahman alleged that Hasina’s administration has devastated the country’s economy and betrayed the principles of independence.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Rahman criticized Sheikh Hasina for allegedly reducing the economy to a “zero quota” and misleading the nation under the guise of national consciousness. He further accused the administration of selling the country’s sovereignty and expressed his disapproval of their current leadership. Rahman insisted that those responsible had been exposed and expelled by the new, more aware generation.

During the gathering, Dr. Rahman also called for justice regarding the July-August massacre and urged readiness to defend the nation’s freedom from fascism. He accused the fallen dictatorship of attempting to undermine the success of the July uprising and called for accountability for those who allegedly set fire to the Secretariat building, destroying crucial documents.

Dr. Rahman outlined his vision for a prosperous Bangladesh, emphasizing the need for unity and collective effort to transform the country into a welfare-oriented state. He highlighted the importance of empowering youth through voting rights as a means of expressing gratitude for their role in shaping a new Bangladesh.

Addressing broader societal issues, Dr. Rahman advocated for a nation free from discrimination, extortion, and corruption. He envisioned an inclusive society where individuals of all religions and castes enjoy equal rights and opportunities. He also underscored the importance of environmental protection and technological advancement in agriculture, aiming to foster a just and prosperous society.

The rally, chaired by Saidpur Upazila Jamaat Ameer Hafez Abdul Muntakim and moderated by Secretary Alhaj Mazharul Islam, featured speeches from various local and district leaders, including Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim and District Ameer Principal Abdus Sattar.
