Youth Fatally Stabbed in Mymensingh During Attempted Theft

MYMENSINGH: A 25-year-old man named Shakib was fatally stabbed in the Habirbari Paragaon area under Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh after attempting to prevent a theft late last night. The incident occurred when Shakib confronted a thief attempting to steal an auto rickshaw, leading to a violent altercation. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the suspect, identified as Ruhul, attacked Shakib during the confrontation. Shakib, the son of Haijuddin Shikder from Shikdarpara-Gouripur village, was critically injured and subsequently transported to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex. Despite medical efforts, the attending doctor pronounced him dead upon arrival. Local authorities, led by Sub-inspector Shafiullah Mirza of Bhaluka Police Station, have confirmed the arrest of the suspect, Ruhul, in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing as police gather more details about the circumstances surrounding the attempted theft and stabbing.
