Kalam, Associates Fined Tk77.21cr for Manipulating Fortune Shoes Shares.

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has fined controversial investor Abul Kalam Matber and his associates Tk77.21 crore for manipulating the shares of Fortune Shoes from 3 October 2021 to 26 October 2021. The commission imposed the fines during its 934th meeting, as announced in a press release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abul Kalam Matber himself has been fined Tk 7.20 crore. Other investors involved include DIT Cooperative Limited, which received a fine of Tk 15 crore, Kazi Sadia Hasan with Tk 25 crore, Konika Afroze with Tk 19 crore, Md Abul Khayer with Tk 11 crore, and Sajed Madbar with Tk 1 lakh.

The capital market regulator also penalized eight investors a total of Tk 49.85 crore for manipulating the shares of Delta Life Insurance Limited from 9 September 2021 to 26 September 2021. Among these investors, Sajed Madbar was fined Tk 1.60 crore, Mohammad Basher Tk 1.15 crore, and Md Abul Khayer Tk 19.15 crore. Others, such as Konika Afroze, were fined Tk 2.90 cro
