CHITTAGONG: Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) today expressed its condolences following the death of Syeda Sadia Sultana, a gold medallist shooter from the 2010 South Asian Games. A BOA press release confirmed that Sadia passed away due to a brain haemorrhage at 2 pm at the Chattogram Medical College and Hospital. She was 31 years old. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Syeda Sadia Sultana was a celebrated member of the Bangladesh shooting team, securing a gold medal in the 10-metre air rifle team event during the 2010 South Asian Games. In a heartfelt condolence message, BOA President and Army Chief Waker-Uz-Zaman, along with Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza, officials, and employees, expressed their profound shock and sorrow at Sadia's untimely demise. They extended their deepest sympathies to her bereaved family. Sadia's contributions to Bangladesh's sporting achievements remain cherished, and her legacy as a skilled shooter continues to inspire future generations.
