satkhira: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today expressed the party's vision to establish a future Bangladesh free from discrimination, where individuals of all religions and castes will have equal opportunities. Speaking as the chief guest at the annual workers' conference of the Satkhira District Unit at the Satkhira Government Boys' High School ground, he emphasized the importance of ensuring the rights of all societal members. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Shafiqur Rahman urged for unwavering unity in the interest of national welfare. He highlighted the sacrifice made in the past by students to remove dictatorship and called for vigilance against conspiracies that may allow tyrants to reemerge in Bengal. Dr Shafiqur Rahman also pointed out the repression faced by the people of Satkhira over the past 17 years, specifically noting the demolition of Satkhira lawmaker Maulana Abdul Khalek Mandal's residence during this period. He stressed the importance of learning from pa st injustices to prevent their recurrence. The workers' conference marked a significant event for the Satkhira district, occurring after a 17-year hiatus. The gathering saw a large turnout of Jamaat leaders and workers, with the session being chaired by the Satkhira District Unit Ameer Shahidul Islam Mukul. Other notable speakers included central executive council member Mohammad Izzat Ullah, central organizing secretary Muhaddis Abdul Khalek, former MP Gazi Nazrul Islam, and former District Ameer Muhaddis Rabiul Basar.
