Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over three divisions located at south and south-eastern areas of the country for the next 24 hours beginning from this morning. "Light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," said a Met office weather bulletin here today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining area moved northwestwards and intensified into a Cyclonic storm named "Fengal" (pronounced as FEINJAL) and now lies over the same area as of 06 AM today. It is likely to move in a northwesterly direction further and may cross the North Tamil Nadu - Puducherry coast during the evening today. The associated trough of the storm extends up to North Bay. The night temperature across the country may fall slightly, and the day temp erature is expected to decrease by 1-2 degrees Celsius. On Friday, the maximum temperature recorded in the country was 34.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda, while the minimum temperature today was 10.3 degrees Celsius at Tetulia. The sun is set to set at 05:10 PM and rise at 06:25 AM tomorrow in the capital.
