Dhaka: Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan returned home after a 7-day official visit to China. During the visit, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan attended various meetings and exchange programmes at different universities and institutions including the World Chinese Language Conference in Beijing and the joint Board Meeting of Confucius Institute in Kunming, said a DU press release today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 2000 delegates including government officials, school principals, experts, scholars, representatives of teachers and students, and diplomatic envoys from 160 countries and different regions attended the conference. During his visit at Yunnan, the DU VC took part in different high-level meetings and held bilateral and multilateral talks with the authorities of Yunnan University for further strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs between DU and Yunnan University.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities wa
s signed in this regard. Besides, the VC exchanged views, shared knowledge, and held discussions with the authorities of the Institute of International and Regional Studies and the School of International Chinese Language Education and different Chinese institutions.
The VC was invited by the Vice-President of Yunnan University, Director General of Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Secretary-General of Chinese International Education Foundation, and President of International Society for Chinese Language Teaching.
