Dhaka: The Dhaka University authorities have decided to launch a shuttle bus service for three months on an experimental basis to ease transportation on campus for students. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan is likely to open the launching ceremony in the last week of this month, as stated in a university press release. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the service will initially operate with three non-AC minibuses running from 7 am to 9 pm on three designated routes. The first proposed route is from Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall to Nilkhet crossing, passing through notable locations such as Amar Ekushey Hall, Shahidullah Hall, Curzon Hall, Mokarram Bhaban, Science Annex Bhaban, TSC, Arts Building, and Mall Chattar. The second route will connect Nilkhet intersection to Sufia Kamal Hall, traversing areas like Mall Chattar, Business Faculty, Lecture Theater Building, Modhu's Canteen, central library, fine arts faculty, TSC, Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, and Curzon Hall. The third route w ill run from Sufia Kamal Hall to Nilkhet intersection via Amar Ekushey Hall, Shahidullah Hall, Curzon Hall, Mokarram Bhaban, Science Annex Bhaban, Jagannath Hall, SM Hall, Fuller Road, and Mall Chattar. DU treasurer Prof Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury conducted an inspection today of the buses inducted to provide the service, aiming to enhance student mobility across the campus.
