Dhaka: The High Court (HC) today released the full text of its judgment, cancelling proceedings of six cases filed against Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. A HC division bench comprising Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain issued the judgment last month after conducting hearings on six separate pleas submitted on behalf of Professor Yunus, who is currently serving as the chief adviser of the interim government. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the full text of the judgment was made available today, and the petitioner's counsel Barrister Mostafizur Rahman Khan shared the development with the media. Barrister Khan explained that five separate cases had been lodged in 2019 with the labour court against Grameen Communication chairman Professor Muhammad Yunus and managing director Naznin Sultana. Additionally, a defamation case was filed against Professor Yunus in 2011. The HC has now annulled the proceedings of all these six cases.
