Hassan Ariff Calls for Elevation of Airport Services to International Standards.

Dhaka: Civil aviation and tourism adviser AF Hassan Ariff today directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) to maintain the highest standards of passenger services, cleanliness, and to enhance other services to international standards at airports. He issued these directives during his visit to the CAAB headquarters and the newly constructed third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), as noted in a press release. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, upon his arrival at HSIA, the adviser was welcomed by Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Nasreen Jahan and CAAB Chairman Air Vice-Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan. During his visit, Ariff took part in a discussion held at the CAAB headquarters conference room, which was attended by CAAB members, executive directors, and directors or equivalent officials. During the meeting, the adviser was briefed on the activities of various departments under CAAB. He expressed satisfaction with CAAB's ongoing initiatives and praised the introduction of waiting lounges and special lounges aimed at enhancing passenger services. He also inquired in detail about ICAO-led audits, the operations of the third terminal, ground handling, and cargo management. Concluding his visit, the adviser inspected key facilities of the newly constructed third terminal, including check-in counters, immigration desks, scanners, boarding bridges, arrival and departure areas, and the aircraft parking apron.
