Dhaka: Eight dengue patients died and 1,389 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period, 123 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 172 in Chattogram, 412 in Dhaka division, 209 in Dhaka North city, while 146 were admitted in Dhaka South. Additionally, 159 patients were hospitalised in Khulna, 96 in Rajshahi, 44 in Mymensingh, nine in Sylhet, and 19 in Rangpur division, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of dengue cases this year has risen to 79,984, with 415 deaths reported from the disease during the same period. In comparison, last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 321,179 cases.
