Dhaka: The Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh Chapter has successfully organized the Project Management Symposium and Awards 2024 for the sixth year in a row recently at a city hotel. Under the theme “Art of Project Management: Maximizing Project Success,” the event attracted over 350 project managers and industry leaders, fostering knowledge exchange and networking opportunities, said a press release today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the welcome address was delivered by ATM Iqbal Chowdhury, President of the PMI Bangladesh Chapter, while Zaved Akhtar, Chairman and Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh, inaugurated the event. Amit Goyal, Managing Director of PMI South Asia, also shared his insights into the future of project management in Bangladesh.
The event included keynote addresses, panel discussions, and valuable insights delivered by prominent speakers such as Mohammad Ali from Pubali Bank PLC, Humaira Azam from Lanka Bangla Finance PLC, and Momin Islam from DSE PLC. Addit
ional notable contributors included Md. Mokerrobin Mannan, Chief Digital Officer at BRAC Bank PLC, Kabita Bose, Country Director of Plan International Bangladesh, Shariful Alam, Regional Partner Manager at Odoo, Dubai, and Masud Khan, Chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Ltd. and Chief Advisor at Crown Cement Group, along with PMI’s national and regional leaders.
The symposium also featured a motivational session, an engaging icebreaker quiz, an energizer session, and the prestigious Glorious Project Award, which was presented to Proyash (Bangladesh Army), among other highlights. At the Project Management Awards, 11 organizations were honored for their exceptional project management accomplishments, with awards presented across 16 categories. Notable winners included Bank Asia, BSRM Group, Banglalink, BRAC IT, Walton Group, and the Bangladesh Tourism Board.
