Mongla: A mobile court evicted 70 illegal establishments in the Mongla Port Authority (MPA) area during its day-long drive on Monday (Yesterday). The MPA, led by its executive magistrate Sanjit Kumar, conducted the drive in the morning and removed the structures occupying two acres of land on both sides of the marine drive road in the old port area, stated Md Makruzzaman, Deputy Director of Board and Public Relation Division of MPA. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Director (Administration) of MPA Md Nuruzzaman, Deputy Director of Board and Public Relations Md Makruzzaman, and officers from the Estate Department of the MPA were present during the operation. The mobile court plans to continue its efforts to clear an additional 1,100 illegal establishments, aiming to recover eight more acres of land from encroachers. Makruzzaman emphasized that the drives will persist until all MPA lands are reclaimed from illegal occupants. Earlier, the MPA had compiled a list of illegal establishments as part of th eir strategy to reclaim their lands from the encroachers. The drive will continue, he added.
