Dhaka: The government has initiated the formation of a special cell tasked with compiling a definitive list of martyrs from the student-led July-August Mass Uprising. This move aims to acknowledge and honor those who lost their lives during the significant movement that took place from July 15 to August 5, 2024.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the government is calling for applications to include names of individuals who were killed, went missing, were buried as unclaimed bodies, or died in hospitals while receiving treatment during the uprising. The official announcement emphasizes that applications are also encouraged from families of individuals who perished in other circumstances related to their involvement in the movement but whose names were not part of the previous list.
Family members or relatives of the affected individuals are required to submit applications along with necessary documentation, such as National Identity Cards (NID) and birth certificates. Submissions should be directed t
o the respective DC office and the leader of the Special Cell at the BSL Office Complex, 2nd floor, Building No-2, Hotel Intercontinental, 1, Minto Road, Dhaka-1000, between November 12 and 24, 2024.
