Satkhira: The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized jewellery made of silver weighing 6.115 kg in the Taluigacha border area of Satkhira early today. The operation was conducted based on secret information, leading to the successful recovery of the silver items. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BGB personnel from the Satkhira Battalion (33 BGB) discovered the Indian silver jewellery, which was concealed in a bag, at around 8:30 am in the Taluigacha BOP area. Satkhira Battalion Commander t. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque confirmed the details of the operation and the weight of the seized items. In connection with the seizure, a general diary (GD) was filed with the Kalaroa police station. The recovered silver jewellery has been deposited into the Satkhira Treasury office for further proceedings. The authorities are likely to continue investigations to understand the broader implications of the smuggling attempt.
