DHAKA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced the squad for the two ICC World Test Championship (WTC) matches against the West Indies, leaving out experienced campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim. Mushfiqur’s finger injury, which he sustained during the first ODI against Afghanistan recently, has sidelined him from the Test series. He also missed the last two ODIs against Afghanistan. However, the veteran is expected to feature in the three-match ODI series in the West Indies.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the squad is almost the same as the one that played against South Africa recently at home. The first Test is set to begin on November 22 in Antigua, while the second match will start on November 30 in Jamaica. Following the two Tests, the series will continue with three ODIs and three T20 Internationals.
The announced squad includes Najmul Hossain Shanto as the captain and features players such as Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, and Zakir Hasan. Mominul Haque, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Litton
Das as the wicketkeeper, Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the vice-captain, Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Hasan Murad complete the roster.
