KUSHTIA: The National Revolution and Solidarity Day was observed at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia in a befitting manner today. On this occasion, a rally was organized by BNP-backed teachers' organization, Zia Parishad, along with UTAB and the IU unit of Chhatra Dal. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the rally commenced from the faculty building and concluded at the foundation stone of the university, after traversing the main roads of the campus. The participants later placed a floral wreath at the foundation stone to commemorate the day. Prominent speakers at the event included former President of the Teachers' Association, Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr. Alinoor Rahman, UTAB Vice President Professor Dr. Idris Ali, Central Zia Parishad General Secretary Professor Dr. Emtaz Hossain, Central Committee Assistant Secretary Dr. Oliur Rahman Pikul, General Secretary of the Zia Parishad Officers' Unit Golam Mahfuz Monju, and unit Chhatra Dal Convener Shahed Ahammed and Secretary Masud Rum i Mithun. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Nurun Nahar, Acting President of the Zia Parishad.
