Max Group 33rd National Swimming Competition Kicks Off in Dhaka.

Dhaka: The Max Group 33rd National Swimming, Diving, and Water Polo competition is set to begin this Saturday, November 9, at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur, Dhaka. Max Group Chairman and Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) Senior Vice President Engineer Golam Mohammad Alomgir is anticipated to inaugurate the event as the chief guest at 3 pm. The opening ceremony will also feature National Sports Council Secretary (Joint Secretary) Md Aminul Islam NDC as a special guest, alongside senior officials from the Bangladesh Navy.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the four-day meet, organized by the BSF and sponsored by Max Group, will see nearly 550 swimmers from 52 teams vying for victory. Teams from Divisional Sports Associations, District Sports Associations, Swimming Clubs, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, and various branches of the military and police, including the Bangladesh Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Ansar, and Border Guard Bangladesh, will participate in the com
petition. The BSF will cover travel, accommodation, and food expenses for all swimmers and officials, except for those from BKSP and the services teams. Accommodations have been arranged at the swimming complex dormitory, Krira Palli-1, and Krira Palli-2.

The competition will feature a total of 38 swimming events, divided equally between men’s and women’s categories. Additionally, three events will be held in men’s diving, and one in water polo. Winners will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals, while team champions and runners-up will be awarded trophies. The event will also recognize the best male and female swimmers with individual trophies.

Max Group has consistently supported national swimming, diving, and water polo competitions as a sponsor since 2013. The group also backs a swimmer talent hunt program, “Bangladesh to Find the Best Swimmers.” The BSF expressed gratitude to Max Group Chairman and BSF Vice President Engineer Golam Mohammad Alomgir for his continued sponsorship.

The closing ceremony
on November 12 will be graced by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, who will distribute prizes to the winners. BSF Senior Vice President Engineer Golam Mohammad Alomgir will preside over the ceremony. A press conference held at the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Duth-Bangla Bank auditorium provided details about the meet. Present at the conference were BSF Acting General Secretary Selim Mia, Vice President Md. Abdul Hamid, Rezaul Hossain Badsha, Joint Secretary Amirul Islam, and sponsor Max Group representative Ibrahim Kholil Polash.
