Anisul Huq and Salman F Rahman Among Five Arrested in New Murder Cases.

Dhaka: A court here today showed five individuals, including Anisul Huq and Salman F Rahman, arrested in connection with six new murder cases filed across four different police stations in the capital. The Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, Arifur Rahman, issued the orders as police presented the accused before the court and requested their arrest be formalized in these cases. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the five individuals shown arrested are Anisul Huq, Salman F Rahman, Kamal Ahmed Mazumder, Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman, and former secretary Jahangir Alam. Anisul Huq was shown arrested in two cases filed with the Mirpur Model Police Station and Uttara East Police Station. Salman F Rahman was shown arrested in a case filed with the Mirpur Model Police Station. Kamal Ahmed Mazumder was connected to a murder case filed with the Mirpur Model Police Station, Barrister Suman to a case filed with the Khilgaon Police Station, and Jahangir Alam to a case filed with the Lalbagh Police Station. Anisu l and Salman, noted figures from the former government of Sheikh Hasina, were apprehended from the Sadarghat area on August 13 as they attempted to exit the capital via waterways. They initially faced a 10-day remand in the Shahjahan murder case on August 14. Kamal Majumder was detained from a residence in Gulshan by Kafrul police during the early hours of October 19 and was placed on a three-day remand that same day. Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman was taken into custody from Mirpur-6 on October 21, while Jahangir Alam was apprehended in Gulshan on October 1.
