Bangladesh Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Independence and Sovereignty.

Dhaka: Home Adviser Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) expressed Bangladesh’s unwavering support for the independence and sovereignty of Palestine during a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador Yousef SY Ramadan. “Bangladesh has always stood beside the repressed and tortured people of Palestine and supported their rational demands. We are in favour of the independence and sovereignty of Palestine,” he stated.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the remarks were made when Ambassador Ramadan paid a courtesy call on the Home Adviser at his Secretariat office. The meeting explored various bilateral interests, including simplifying the issuance of visas for Palestinian students and garnering global support for Palestine. The Home Ministry released a press statement confirming these discussions.

The Adviser began the meeting by welcoming the Palestinian envoy, emphasizing, “Palestine is our tested friend. We will always continue our support for them.” Ambassador Ramadan highlighted that 207 Palestin
ian students are currently studying in 12 Bangladeshi universities on scholarships and expressed a desire to increase these numbers through proper channels.

The Home Adviser assured the ambassador of Bangladesh’s continued cooperation and support for Palestinian students pursuing education in the country. The meeting was attended by high officials of the ministry.
